The diary format was an interesting one as well, as it was written in third person rather than first, showing how Belladonna detached herself to survive her ordeal.

It’s filled with dark anecdotes and surely will entertain. The author never quite manages belladonnx choose either. This is an easy read, but a very long read!

Butterfly by Harvey was miles better and now I want to re-read the F. The plot is how this girl breaks away and tries to enact revenge on the men who used her. They settle in New York and open an opulent and decadent nightclub, sure that its erotic reputation will lure the men who abused her. Almost all of the characters are exceptionally developed throughout the whole story that spans over years. What all the encouraging blurbs and praise on the cover fail to reveal is that the entire story is being told in the most round about way possible by a eunuch and not Belladonna herself. Robbed of her freedom, identity, and dignity, the girl known as Isabella slowly disappears.

The notorious femme fatale Belladonna, who’s always masked and who At first, I thought it was going to be some contrite novel about some woman and her revenge, but surprisingly, the book was more than that. Belladonna finds herself the heir of a large fortune, and she dedicates her money and time to Club Belladonna, a popular club, where she hopes to lure one of the members into her club.
But, I think it was necessary, so the reader could truly see how the human helladonna can be tortured and led to do things one would never do in normal circumstances. No other book captivates, enthralls or occupies the mind like this bellavonna. I loved how the author really brought you into this world where everything was dark, but even through the darkness, things like humanity, unconditional love, and hope still came through.
So many emotions play out in Belladonna, as the story unfolds you want to weep for the character and those surrounding her, this explores dominance at it’s cruelest, bittersweet revenge? I loved the interesting side “revenge” tales of Belladonna helping women in need. His range of delivery is remarkable, and his mastery of the emotive final chapter is superb – I look forward to hearing more of his readings.
